Words of gratitude and appreciation deserve a special frame.

I feel that these words of gratitude and appreciation are like treasures and deserve a special frame. I put some feedback from the participants of my Course on Photography in Coaching into these images that resonate with the words. I find it just beautiful. I am grateful.

once you understand what it means it will change your life

“I am” is a significant word. I explored it through photography.

I am – a deep understanding of this word can change your life. “I am” is one of the more significant words.

Notice that when you ask yourself what “I am” means, a feeling arises. You feel something inside you. Isn’t it interesting?

Of course, you know you are and it goes without saying. But try to understand and feel it more deeply.

Stand with your feet on the ground and think “I am.” Repeat the word in your mind several times. Start walking with that awareness of “I am.” You can also run or dance with “I am”. Check how you feel and what you feel when you realize the meaning of the word.

I feel joy. And gratitude.

When you understand with all your heart the meaning of “I am,” it can change your life. So, please do experience. Knowing something and experiencing it are two different things.

“I am” – with this awareness everyday life is better. You notice more around you and enjoy it more. Gratitude awakens in you, which brings positive energy. It helps you live with a lighter heart.

Hardship and pain are part of life. They cannot be avoided. Thanks to them, we make effort and achieve something. We keep developing. But we have a choice to see consciously what gives lightness, relief, comfort, and what gives a sense of power at the same time.

“I am” is a powerful word.

To understand and see it better, you can go for a walk and photograph the topic “I am”. You don’t need to know in advance how to do this. Ideas will come. Walk, look around you and you will discover an unlimited source of wisdom, creativity and joy. Below are my photos of “I am”.

Inspired by Mooji.

“Sunrise – My moment of the Day” and a photo on my desk

I took this photo during a bird-watching at sunrise with my son. It shows “My moment” of the day 🍀 – it is when I’m in nature at sunrise, observing how the world wakes up, listening to delicate sounds of early morning and bird voices, feeling the fresh air. It is a moment of full connection when I feel to be truly a part of the universe.

And what is Your Moment?

Having the photo of “My Moment” on my desk helps me to relax during my working day. When I see it, I immediately feel a bigger space inside myself.

No rush. No stress. Life is the now.

I recommend you watch this film “Waves – A Portrait of Maria á Heygum“. It inspired me a lot some years ago and I have watched this film many times and share with many people. It helped me to put in words “MY Moment” 🙂

“Becoming Visible to Yourself” – upcoming workshop

“Becoming Visible to Yourself – Photography in Coaching and Wellbeingis the title of the workshop that I will lead for the Finnish PhotoTherapy Association.

During this workshop participants will experience the power of personal photos in building positive narratives about themselves, understanding their needs, values and the essence of their life experience, of what makes sense for them in life. In a process of a self-reflection based on “The Most Important Photo” that is facilitated with the use coaching techniques and personal photographs, life achievements, relationships and character strengths become visible and expressed. I will teach how personal photos can be used to connect to inner wisdom, a sense of meaning and build bridges between past achievements and future possibilities.

The Most Important Photo? What is it? The Most Important Photo is a photo that the client is choosing deliberately from his or her photos that are kept to remember important moments and people in life. This is a photo connects you to something meaningful in your life and the essence of who you are and what is your life experience. It can be used as a gate for reflections about someone’s values, needs, future career choices, or life changes, etc. It is generic process.

During the workshop, I will also show two examples of using active photography to support wellbeing.

The first one is a case study from a one-to-one coaching process with a client who struggled with low energy in life and blocking self-beliefs. Daily morning photography and grounding practice helped the client to regain a sense of purpose, joy and self-drive in life. It resulted in significant changes for better in life.

The second one is a project reflecting my practice of photo-walks that I offer in order to support clients in connecting to themselves, supporting habits of self-care, finding joy in life.

I hope that I will start offering this workshop soon as an open-enrollment workshop!

thank to the photos express our admiration for the world every day and celebrate the joy of creation.

The Forest and Our Wisdom – the Close-up project/ week #1

The first week of the Close-up project is behind us. It was dedicated to the virtue of Wisdom.

What were the photos taken by the participants of that project? Where did photo-walks take us? What did the old photos say to us about wisdom?

Many reflections were connected to trees and forests. Here are some of them.

Whoever you are, a man or a tree, wisdom is in all of us.

Trees teach us how to grow. The higher a tree grows, the deeper its roots go. As it grows upwards, it finds an anchor.

What’s in it for us, people? Let’s remember to ground ourselves as we move up. Find time to rest, reflect and learn from experience. Let the body-mind stay alone from time to time, far from noise, pressure and anything that prompts to move forward. Find an anchor in the breath, peace of mind, and quiet.

Go to the forest or to the park every day. Find space where you can meet yourself and listen to your inner voice in silence. The longer you listen, the more you will know.

“Spend some time alone each day.” The Dalai Lama

Below, you can see the slideshow of some of the photos taken as a reflection about Wisdom during the first week of the Close-up project and our photo walks.

And now, you can go out and take a walk yourself. Just let yourself travel. Find a moment to sit and reflect on your wisdom – how can develop and use your wisdom to live better and happier? What will you start doing, what will you continue doing and what will you stop doing based on what you know is best for you. How can you take a better care of yourself? And finally, what will you do in the the coming week in order to live wisely.

Nature photography is an expression of spirituality

Have you ever asked yourself why we take so many pictures of beautiful nature? We might resist taking photos. But we do it even if we already had taken similar ones in the past. I have a very human and humanistic view on it. Let me share it now

☀️Taking pictures of stunning nature has something to do with our character strengths. Yes!

☀️It is an expression of spirituality, and spirituality is a power that gives hope and faith in the future, as well as a sense of reconciliation and emotional freedom.

☀️By using spirituality, the more fun, less struggling, less tension, more sense of abundance and beauty in life.

😆Attached a few pictures from a place that delights me for years, where I regain my energy and harmony. And I will always take a picture there because this is how I say that I am delighted, happy and awesome.

What do you think about it?

Photography can be a way to regain a sense of meaning and direction

Welcome to the fourth part of the “Peace and Joy at Home – The Power of Photography” article. Today, I share about keeping a photo-diary in order to regain a sense of meaning and direction.
🌱 Photography can be a way to regain a sense of meaning and direction – this is, to achieve something valuable over time. It is about keeping a photo-journal with the idea to implement a task in a consistent way over a period of time.
🌱 As a reward, you discover that you can focus on something you had decided to do and accomplish it.
🌱 If you keep a photo diary for 21 days, you get a real chance to experience having more focus in your life.
🌱 To do this, you need small but daily steps. Do it on ease, with no pressure.

How to do it?
🌱Choose the topic of a photo-journal that will be valuable to you in the near future. For example, if you need to learn to take care of yourself, you can look after each morning with a special look and take a picture of yourself. With each photo, write how you feel when you see yourself and what you like. Imagine how you will feel after 21 days with such a series of photos and affirmations about you!
🌱Another idea on the same subject is a beautifully composed and served meal.
🌱Still another topic, for example, if you are looking for more to appreciate everyday life, take photos of the weather outside and describe what the weather is like, how the air smells, how birds sing.

How to use it at home with your family?
🌱Appoint home editors or journalists, if you prefer on various topics: cooking, portraits of family members, the advent of spring. And so on.

I hope you find this inspiration useful. Next week, I will write about story-telling based on personal photos to build respect and a sense of uniqueness.

Stay safe, Do Raniszewska

Photography is fun, brings moments of joy in the family and helps to develop creative skills.

Welcome to the third part of the “Peace and Joy at Home – The Power of Photography” article. Today, I share about photography is fun, brings moments of joy in the family and helps to develop creative skills.☀️
🌱 Like all people, you also have the ability to create. You can awaken and develop it. Photography provides you with many ways to discover your creativity, strengthen your trust in your abilities, and enjoy being creative. Just for pleasure, without “I must”, “I can”, allowing yourself to be an amateur. It’s also a way to take advantage of discovering beauty.
How to do it and where to start?
🌱 Invite your family to play together in “Photo Shapes”.
🌱 Set a topic and suggest that we all have 10 minutes to take a series of photos on a selected topic. For example, the topic could be “little”, “purple”, “crazy” and so on.
🌱 You don’t have to leave one room to get a set of interesting ideas and frames.
🌱 When everyone takes pictures, let them choose the one that they find the most interesting or the best. And then you can read and admire the ingenuity of everyone.
🌱 It’s important not to rate or compare photos. What counts is the unique idea and participation in the fun.

I hope you find this inspiration useful. Next week, I will write about photo-diaries are a source of positive emotions, introduce routine and continuity.

Have a beautiful weekend with creativity  Do Raniszewska

Did you know that Photography helps stop the race of thoughts and gain inner peace?

Welcome to the second part of the “Peace and Joy at Home – The Power of Photography” article. Today, I share about how photography helps stop the race of thoughts and gain inner peace.☀️

🌱Imagine you are entering a meadow. Start noticing flowers, grasses, trees, dandelions, sun, shadows, cobwebs, colors. On the right there is a tall tree. Green bush is on your left. A bird flies by. You hear crickets chirping. You smell the meadow. You approach the dandelion close by, the light shining through the crown. It’s a magic moment. And you just photograph. 🌱And now come back to the awareness that you are reading this article and answer the question:

🌱Did you imagine this meadow and taking pictures in your imagination, and in the same time were thinking about what else to do today or what to cook for dinner?

Probably not! Because taking pictures absorbs the mind and every detail, every time you start running like a butterfly, it draws your attention fully. You are then in a state of flow. This is exactly what happens in mindfulness practice.

🌱Mindfulness practice improves mental health. These are usually yoga and meditation. It turns out that photography works the same way because it puts you in a state of awareness of the outside world and your own thoughts, thus immediately reduce stress, stops the race of thoughts. With longer practice, it also improves memory and concentration. The practice of mindfulness is a practice of peacefulness.

🌱Taking photos is also a regular source of positive emotions. It brings satisfaction, a sense of accomplishment, because by taking pictures a person stays in contact with themselves, goes out to the world, exceeds the limits of confinement in their own thoughts and, as a result, expresses something from themselves in a creative way.

🌱How can you start to practice peace of mind through photography?

All you have to do is spend twenty minutes to half an hour every day at home or outside. You can have one topic for some time and then change it. For example ‘light’. ‘Sunlight’ is a great topic if you need to regain joy, energy, a good mood or reduce depression. When you photograph your mind is absorbed enough watching and creating that it frees you for a moment from anxiety, and turns on a sense of harmony and purpose.

I hope you find this inspiration useful. Next week, I will write about photography as fun, which gives the family moments of joy and develops creative skills.

Did you know that family photos can help to strengthen the sense of security and self-esteem in children and adolescents?

🍀 Yeas, family photos can help to strengthen the sense of security and self-esteem in children and adolescents.🍀

Recall your parents’ home. Probably on the shelves or on the dresser, there are family photos, e.g. from holidays spent together. Why do your parents keep these pictures on display? To have you close to themselves, to feel your presence at home. These photos bring back the nice moments that they want to remember. They show the continuity of the biography. They remind you of the uniqueness of your own life. They show the value of shared experiences. And that gives you a sense of meaning. What do family photos “say” from the wall? They say only good things that we naturally want to hear about ourselves. Such as I love you, our family is important.
🍀Therefore, they are valuable in building a sense of security and self-esteem in children. Hanged on the wall, they inform that the family is united and unique and that children are an important part of it. It is worth hanging a family photo in a children’s room so that children before falling asleep and after waking up see it as the first information that they are not alone, but together with the loved ones.
🍀Such information means for the child’s brain the safety of being in a family. They also allow us to cultivate a sense of value, uniqueness and sense. They are a way to celebrate family life.
🍀How to choose photos and who should do it? The easiest way would be to do it yourself. But there is a better way – involve children. Invite each family member to choose a few photos from your vacation, holidays or everyday life that they especially like. Together you can decide on their composition and place where they will be exposed. Maybe you will do one common collage, or everyone will find their own photo corner at home.
🍀I hope you find this inspiration useful. ☀️

Next week, I will write about photography as a practice of mindfulness, which helps to stop the race of thoughts and restore inner peace. Do Raniszewska
