The Forest and Our Wisdom – the Close-up project/ week #1

The first week of the Close-up project is behind us. It was dedicated to the virtue of Wisdom.

What were the photos taken by the participants of that project? Where did photo-walks take us? What did the old photos say to us about wisdom?

Many reflections were connected to trees and forests. Here are some of them.

Whoever you are, a man or a tree, wisdom is in all of us.

Trees teach us how to grow. The higher a tree grows, the deeper its roots go. As it grows upwards, it finds an anchor.

What’s in it for us, people? Let’s remember to ground ourselves as we move up. Find time to rest, reflect and learn from experience. Let the body-mind stay alone from time to time, far from noise, pressure and anything that prompts to move forward. Find an anchor in the breath, peace of mind, and quiet.

Go to the forest or to the park every day. Find space where you can meet yourself and listen to your inner voice in silence. The longer you listen, the more you will know.

“Spend some time alone each day.” The Dalai Lama

Below, you can see the slideshow of some of the photos taken as a reflection about Wisdom during the first week of the Close-up project and our photo walks.

And now, you can go out and take a walk yourself. Just let yourself travel. Find a moment to sit and reflect on your wisdom – how can develop and use your wisdom to live better and happier? What will you start doing, what will you continue doing and what will you stop doing based on what you know is best for you. How can you take a better care of yourself? And finally, what will you do in the the coming week in order to live wisely.

The experience of the Life Photo Album can transform our self-perception, raise a sense of strengths, abundance and gratitude.

Hi, this is Dorota :). Again, this week I collect and share valuable insights from our group sessions in the ONE IMAGE – MANY WORDS course on photography in coaching with you.

Yesterday, we looked at the Life Photo Album made from a selection of 20-30 personal photos as a record of our resources. We discovered:

Character Strengths that we have – such as courage, wisdom, humanity, spirituality, and many others,

Experiences that we can use as case studies to become self-confident about our future goals,

Relationships that support us, ensure belonging, are sources of love

Positive impact on others that we have and how we serve them in life,

Sources of gratitude in life,

Doors to a sense of abundance in life.

It is a completely new way of looking at our photos and comprehending what they truly can mean for us. Those photos collected throughout our lives, stored in parents house, or on a computer.

Usually, our first reaction is to look at old photos as memory of something that happened in the past. But in coaching and especially in the Life Photo Album coaching process we contemplate photos to find elements of who we were in the past and you we are now that we can accept and treat as our strengths, and enablers of self-acceptance and growth.

We can use this process of the Life Photo Album in life coaching, career coaching, relationship coaching, when a person is losing self-esteem, self-confidence, parallel to psychometric tests, when we need to uplift spirits, gain new energy for growth., motivate.

I hope you found this insight useful. If yes, you can leave your comment under this post, please. Thank you for reading this article and stay in touch! There will be more

Nature photography is an expression of spirituality

Have you ever asked yourself why we take so many pictures of beautiful nature? We might resist taking photos. But we do it even if we already had taken similar ones in the past. I have a very human and humanistic view on it. Let me share it now

☀️Taking pictures of stunning nature has something to do with our character strengths. Yes!

☀️It is an expression of spirituality, and spirituality is a power that gives hope and faith in the future, as well as a sense of reconciliation and emotional freedom.

☀️By using spirituality, the more fun, less struggling, less tension, more sense of abundance and beauty in life.

😆Attached a few pictures from a place that delights me for years, where I regain my energy and harmony. And I will always take a picture there because this is how I say that I am delighted, happy and awesome.

What do you think about it?
